hit logs
statistics on which pages are getting visited on a website, useful for determining which pages are popular, which may be difficult to find, and which paths people are taking through the website.
The logs may contain information on what date and time people are visiting, what domains people are browsing from, which browsers they are using, and what pages they are coming from. It is also generally useful to separate the number of times graphics are loaded, to distinguish between the number of visitors and the number of hits (since some people may visit multiple times). Hit logs can sometimes be very difficult to interpret since hits may not be recorded if people have cached a page, and visitors may be impossible to distinguish when they share a proxy server (an intermediary that can provide caching and anonymity).
