dome tree
like a disk tree, a representation of hierarchical information with the primary node at the center and each successive descendant falling on concentric rings spanning out from the center along a 3-dimensional dome. The dome allows relationships to be indicated between nodes by drawing a straight line between them which then doesn’t interfere with the primary tree representation as it would in a disc tree. In addition, rather than densely packing nodes according to their fraction of the total number of leaf nodes, spare room can be inserted throughout the tree to enable seeing through the dome to annotations underneath.
