Responsibilities:
- Develops and facilitates a marketing strategy utilizing Internet-based communications.
- Networks within the Christian and secular communities and looks for ways to establish special promotions, links, strategic alliances, paid advertising, organic search listings, social media, email marketing or other creative ways to generate traffic to Compassion's web site to increase donations for Compassion's Child Survival Program (CSP), Leadership Development Program (LDP) and Complementary Intervention Programs (CIV).
- Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Is a witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
- Acts as an advocate for children raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty.
- Challenges and enables those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
- Researches, organizes and implements Internet-based marketing plans and activities.
- Manages relationships with external consultants, contractors and agencies that provide strategy support and recommendations for marketing initiatives.
- Establishes links, ads, and promotional exposure for Compassion on other web sites (paid or unpaid).
- Builds relationships with web site managers or representatives within the Christian and secular communities and looks for creative ways to drive potential sponsors and donors to our site.
- Serves as a primary liaison with Product and Constituent Marketing groups in regards to establishing Internet links or promotions on the Web sites of our artists, speakers, or other strategic alliances.
- Works with Product and Constituent Marketing groups to develop new material or strategies as needed.
- Monitors and updates the design and content of identified marketing sections on Compassion's web site.
- Works with technical and design staff to implement new features on the site.
- Monitors new web features to ensure web usability principals are in place.
- Directs or facilitates the development of ad materials that are needed to support external Internet marketing campaigns, including banner ads, audio or video features or other Compassion content.
- Serves as principal liaison with the corresponding functional counterpart in each of the Partner Country offices.
- This responsibility requires proactive, timely, and regular communication as well as a service-oriented attitude.
- Represent Internet Marketing on various cross-divisional project teams.
- Monitors activity through Compassion's site through web analytics reporting tools.
- Responsible for monitoring results to determine return on investment.
- Responsible for working closely with I.T. to monitor the site's dependability and availability to support Marketing activities.
Skills and requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in a related field required.
- At least ten years experience in sales or direct marketing.
- Experience in Internet marketing or sales preferred.
- Ability to build and develop an Internet marketing strategy.
- Strong knowledge and skills in Internet-based communications.
- Good personal and telephone communication skills.
- Able to motivate others.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a number of projects at the same time and be a detail oriented project manager.
- Ability to negotiate effective, creative and non-traditional marketing agreements.
- A knowledge of industry tools like web analytics solutions, content management solutions, email marketing and management tools, social media, Google AdWords and Yahoo Marketing Solutions paid search advertising web-based administration tools.
- Maintains knowledge and trends of the Internet marketing industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically, and occasionally cross-culturally. Position requires 15% to 30% domestic and international travel.
